Boston, Mass – September 1, 2009
ATLANTIC-ACM, a leading telecommunications research consultancy, today released the 2009 edition of its Business Connectivity Report Card. The report provides deep insight into the business connectivity landscape from the enterprise perspective.
“Year-over-year increases in quality scores for Ethernet, VoIP, Internet Access and IP VPN indicate that carriers are refining the services they consider crucial to future revenue growth opportunities,” said Dr. Judy Reed Smith, ATLANTIC-ACM CEO. “Nearly one-fourth of business customers reported migrating to (or planned to migrate in 2009) Ethernet, while VoIP, Internet Access and IP VPN migration rates were somewhat lower. As adoption rates of these select products grow, ATLANTIC-ACM expects price competition among carriers serving these small/medium business and enterprise customers will increase.”
About the Study: ATLANTIC-ACM’s fourth annual Business Connectivity Report Card study is an industry-wide, survey-based study that enables small- and medium-sized business and enterprise customers to provide feedback on multiple carriers, including wireless carriers (new this year), in a variety of service and product categories, and to evaluate carrier operations. The report card features business/enterprise customer ratings of carrier performance over multiple service and operational categories from the past 12 months of service. The resulting data provides carriers with an overview of strengths and weaknesses from the customers' point of view, and allows them to directly compare their own performance to that of competitors. In addition, the analysis enables business class customers to make informed choices when selecting carriers.
