Boston, MA – January 21, 2019 Leading research consultancy and market diligence firm ATLANTIC-ACM delivered its 2019 Global Wholesale Service Provider Excellence Awards on Sunday, January 20 at the annual Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. The awards were determined by responses to the firm’s annual market wide customer feedback survey, through which customers submitted over 1,000 evaluations of international wholesale service providers.

ATLANTIC-ACM introduced the Global Wholesale Report Card survey in 2000 to identify the strengths and weaknesses of wholesale providers, along with customer buying trends and priorities. The 2019 analysis of the ~$22B+ international voice and data market marks the 20th consecutive year of this research and offers competitive benchmarking data to carriers as well as insights on shifting purchase dynamics and priorities. “The international wholesale telecom market will be constrained moving forward as buyers’ needs for high capacity Wavelength and Dark Fiber services will fail to offset pricing pressure and voice traffic moving to alternative solutions. While price will always be crucial to satisfying customers and winning business, ATLANTIC-ACM respondent data indicates that international wholesale providers will need to capitalize on emerging trends, such as buyers’ interest in self-provisioning or network monitoring APIs, IoT, network function virtualization, SD-WAN, and adherence to carrier interoperability standards if they want to remain competitive” stated Fedor Smith, President and Managing Partner.

ATLANTIC-ACM President and Managing Partner Fedor Smith delivered the awards as follows:

  • Verizon: Large Service Provider Awards for Sales Reps, Service Delivery, and Network Performance
  • Orange: Large Service Provider Awards for Brand and Voice Value
  • Telefonica: Large Service Provider Awards for Billing, Customer Service, and Data Value
  • Telia Carrier: Midsized Service Provider Awards for Brand, Sales Reps, Service Delivery, Network Performance, Billing, and Data Value
  • BICS: Midsized Service Provider Awards for Customer Service and Voice Value
