The awards were determined by responses to the firm’s annual customer feedback survey, which collected nearly 1,100 customer evaluations of approximately 70 individual metro wholesale service providers. ATLANTIC-ACM introduced the Metro Wholesale Report Card survey in 2006 to identify the strengths and weaknesses of wholesale providers, along with customer buying trends and priorities. The 2018 analysis of the approximately $17B IP and local voice/data market marks the 13th consecutive year of this research and offers insights on a shifting purchase ecosystem and priority landscape. “The overall revenue for metro wholesale services is declining year over year, forcing carriers to be highly competitive when it comes to services and customer experience if they want to gain market share. ATLANTIC-ACM has found that network performance and price remain carrier purchasers’ top purchase priorities, but service delivery and white glove approaches add to a vendor’s value. Carrier customers find more agile market entrants easier to do business with, driving cable/MSO and fiber players’ share gain as prices continue to fall and circuit speeds increase,” stated Fedor Smith, President and Managing Partner.
